Yavapai aides in bringing advocacy center
Employees from the Yavapai Family Advocacy Center visited Safford to aide in the efforts to start a similar center that would serve Graham and Greenlee counties. An advocacy center would draw employees from different agencies such as the police department, County Attorny's office and Child Protective Services to create a place where victims of abuse can get all the aide they need at one place.

Michael W. Martinez of Pima pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, criminal damage and attempted use of a dangerous drug on Jan. 5 and was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison on Jan. 20.
