Several new employees have recently joined the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Safford Field Office.

Field Manager Bill Civish swore in the BLM's newest law enforcement ranger in January. Robert Vaitkus, originally from Phoenix, had been working at a Forest Service law enforcement office in Colorado when he accepted the BLM job. Vaitkus graduated from the University of Arizona in Tucson with training in all areas of resource management and had 13 years of law enforcement experience in Arizona prior to his Colorado job.

Phil Cooley is the Safford Field Office's new lead range management specialist. Other recent additions to the BLM office include fisheries biologist Heidi Blasius, natural resource specialists Heidi Kuska and Doug Powers, and Aravaipa Canyon park ranger Patrick O'Neill.
