Below are a few suggested books for adults. The summaries were obtained from the Web site NoveList.

€ "The Stolen Child" by Keith Donohue. The story is about a changeling and the boy he replaced. Henry Day is kidnapped by hobgoblins and replaced by an impostor. In alternating chapters, Henry tells the tale of how he adjusts to his new situation.

€ "Cell" by Stephen King. Civilization doesn't end with a bang or a whimper. It ends with a call on your cell phone. A signal sent through every operating cell phone turns its user into something else. Is this a terrorist act or a cyber prank gone haywire? Mayhem and violence are unleashed around the world.

€ "Book of the Dead" by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. Psychotic killer Diogenes faces down his incarcerated FBI brother while the Museum of Natural History reopens an exhibit that coincides with a series of murders and sparks rumors about an ancient curse. This is the third book in a series. The first two are "Brimstone" and "Dance of Death."

€ "Two Little Girls in Blue" by Mary Higgins Clark is a chilling story of kidnapping, murder and telepathy. Margaret and Steve Frawley's twin girls, Kelly and Kathy, are kidnapped from their home. Although they pay a ransom of $8 million, only Kelly is returned. A note says Kathy has died. Kelly's telepathic messages from her sister keep telling her Kathy is alive.

Young adults or teens may enjoy the following books, Elliott said:

€ "Milkweed" by Jerry Spinelli captures the hardships and cruelty of life in the ghettos of Warsaw during the Nazi occupation of World War II through the eyes of an orphan who must use all his wits and courage to survive.

€ "Girl, 15, Charming But Insane" by Sue Limb. This novel features Jess Jordan, who covets her best friend's body, beauty and popularity. Jess is enamored with the unattainable Ben Johnson, and she is friends with Fred, the class clown and nerd.
