Drought group to hold inaugural meeting

The Graham/Greenlee Local Area Impact Assess-ment Group, known as LAIAG, which is aimed at coordinating drought aw-areness and implementing local mitigation options, will meet at 3 p.m. Feb. 22 in the assembly room of the Graham County General Services Building, 921 Thatcher Blvd.

During this public meeting, the group will discuss a proposed organizational structure for the Graham/ Greenlee LAIAG. Represen-tatives from each water-use sector will be instrumental in assisting the LAIAG, according to an announcement from Graham County.

The formation of county LAIAGs throughout Ari-zona was part of a 2003 directive from Gov. Janet Napolitano. So far, Pinal and Cochise counties have formed their LAIAGs, Graham County Manager Terry Cooper said.

The groups are tasked with coordinating public awareness of drought conditions, provide impact assessments, provide information to local and state leaders and implement local mitigation and response options.

“We want weather spotters from throughout the two counties,” Cooper said.

Water conservation may come up in discussions, he said. A letter on the matter has been sent to all Graham and Greenlee households.

" Its editors like this who make out the world to be worse then it actually is. It also shows how non-professional and low classed editors they are. This mild story is no where near the truth. But, poor characteristic editors as these has not stopped me from achieving my goals in life. I am currently a professional Mixed Martial Arts fighter and will continue to pursue my dream with complete confidence. Changing the story hasn't changed me. "

" Hello! My name is Lynn "Sota" Hart owner of No Xcuses None! and a member of the Yankton Sioux tribe located in South Dakota. And the designer of the American Indian Anti-Meth posters for Youth Across America". www.noxcusesnone.com

designed these posters to be relevant to Indian country because I felt they were unique and would aid in the battle against Meth on and off the American Indian reservations. Its not going to be the "cure all" but I feel that the families and their youth living on the reservations in America need to use whatever American Indian "
