The Safford Police were dispatched to the Mount Graham Regional Medical Center's Emergency Room Thursday afternoon in reference to an individual who had bitten a staff member.
Upon arrival, police found Christal Sapp of Safford being held on a bed in restraints.
According to police reports, Sapp bit a registered nurse during an alleged crystal methamphetamine-induced psychosis.
The RN showed officers his left forearm, and they noted two small punctures that had broken the skin. The RN was able to treat his injuries himself.
Sapp told hospital staff that she had come to the ER because her neighbor is a witch and had placed a bird in her refrigerator.
She was released from the ER and booked into the Graham County Jail for aggravated assault with a dangerous instrument and aggravated assault on a health care worker. She is being held until a psychiatric exam can be administered and for possible charges stemming from her arrest.
