TLC students receive reading awards
Triumphant Learning Center recently honored students who completed reading goals for the 2006-2007 school year. Students in the kindergarten through second grades who read a yearly total of at least 3,600 minutes were presented with White Tiger Cub medallions. Students in the third and fourth grades who read at least 4,900 minutes, and students in the fifth through eighth grades who read at least 5,600 minutes were presented with Gold Medal Reader medallions.

The United States Achievement Academy announced that Allyssa Quintana of Safford has been named an All-American Scholar-At-Large Award winner. Her name will appear in the All-American Scholar Official Yearbook, which is published nationally. She is a student at Safford Middle School.

Tribe announces new criteria for diabetes program
In an effort to comply with federal grant regulations, the diabetes program will have new membership criteria, meaning that not everybody is eligible to use program-related services for free. The following diabetes program services will change the definition of eligibility as of June 1, 2007: community outreach, weight management clinic, fitness center and Boys and Girls Club.
