Students participate in Hats for Hospice fund-raiser

Each year, Mount Graham Hospice sponsors Hats for Hospice, a fund-raiser for the students in the Valley schools. The students bring a $1 donation and can wear their favorite hat or cap for the day. The students are very happy to be helping the patients in the community.

The donations from this fund-raiser help provide comforting items like warming hearts, mittens and slippers that can be put into the microwave to warm patientsÕ hands and feet, eyedrops for their drying eyes and other items that help to make hospice patients comfortable.

Hospice patients and their families appreciate all that the students contribute in time and money. Mount Graham Hospice is grateful for the studentsÕ participation, enthusiasm and concern for the patients. The Hats for Hospice fund-raiser is a wonderful way for the younger citizens of the Gila Valley to start giving back to their community.

Teachers and children from the Safford Adventist Christian School participated in the popular Hats for Hospice fund-raiser again this year. Sporting their hats, from left, are Chani Daley, Jasmine Quintana, Kylie Heinrich, Matthew Garcia, Justin Mathews, Lisa Garcia, Nathan Heinrich, Rocki Daley, Mrs. Cheryl Welch and Haley Muncy.
