Students participate in Hats for Hospice fund-raiser
Each year, Mount Graham Hospice sponsors Hats for Hospice, a fund-raiser for the students in the Valley schools. The students bring a $1 donation and can wear their favorite hat or cap for the day. The students are very happy to be helping the patients in the community.

Blake Foundation becomes Easter Seals affiliate
The Blake Foundation announced its new status as a national affiliate of Easter Seals at a recent Tucson press conference. The nonprofit organization is one of the largest providers of southern Arizona programs and services for children and adults with developmental disabilities and delays as well as traumatic brain injuries. In 2006, the Tucson-based agency served nearly 10,000 clients and their families in seven Arizona counties, including Graham, Greenlee and Gila.

Thatcher student commended for academic performance
Thatcher High School Principal Paul Nelson announced that Dallin Christensen has been named a Commended Student in the 2008 National Merit Scholarship Program. A letter of commendation from the school and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, which conducts the program, will be presented by the principal to this scholastically talented senior.
