Morenci mine sponsors employee decorating contest

Many homes are beautifully decorated for the Christmas holiday in Greenlee and Graham counties. However, one would be hard-pressed to outdo some of the homes in “The Hole” in Morenci or on Roadrunner Lane in Thatcher.

A person almost needs sunglasses to take in the illuminated wonders created there.

It may be even brighter and prettier in The Hole, on Roadrunner and other parts of Greenlee and Graham this year for Freeport-McMoRan Gold & Copper Inc.employees. They are invited to participate in the Holiday Home Decorating Contest sponsored by Freeport-McMoRan Americas-Morenci.

There is more than beauty to behold. FM-Morenci is sponsoring prizes to be awarded to its employees and their families for the best-decorated homes in Clifton, Duncan, York Valley, Loma Linda, Verde Lee, Sheldon, Safford, Thatcher and Pima.

Registration forms can be obtained via e-mail or at the employment office in Morenci. Forms can be returned to the employment office or e-mailed to human resources representatives Frank Ogas, Boyd Dugan, Yessael Leiva, Jeff Thompson or Rocky Mitchell. The deadline for entry is Dec. 7.

Homes will be judged the weeks of Dec. 10-14 and Dec. 17-21. Winners will be announced in early January.
