A 53-29 win over Bowie/San Simon on Friday was the Lady Apaches’ fifth consecutive victory. Fort Thomas is 5-0 in 2008.
Senior Kesha Lomayesva poured in 12 points and collected 15 rebounds in the win. Sophomore Nakia Moses scored 13 to lead the Apaches, and senior Lena Moses added 11.
Fort Thomas (11-4, 6-0 1A East) also picked up another road victory at Valley Union on Thursday.
The Apaches administered suffocating defense in a 47-28 triumph. Lena Moses led the Apaches with 17 points on 7-11 shooting, and senior Chelsea Moses added 10 points and four assists.
“Valley Union was scrappy and hustled a lot,” Haws said. “(Our) girls never gave up and kept overcoming all the adversity they were feeling.”
Haws said his players are hustling on defense and rotating better than ever.
The Apaches held a two-game lead in the 1A East standings over Pima and Duncan heading into their game against Cibecue last night.
