State Representative Bill Konopnicki has announced his candidacy for a fourth term in the Arizona House of Representatives from District 5. He has established himself as a leader in the House and a friend of rural Arizona, education and business.
He is currently serving as chairman of the Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee and is on the Commerce and Judiciary committees. He has also served as chairman of the Government Reform and Government Finance Accountability Committee and the Health and Appropriations committees.
He has lived in rural Arizona most of his life. He received his BA and MA degrees from Arizona State University and his doctorate from the University of Arizona. For the past 31 years, he has owned and operated businesses in rural Arizona, New Mexico and Idaho.
A Safford resident since the early ‘70s, Konopnicki is involved in community affairs and understands the special needs for rural Arizona; and he has been a major force in solving rural problems. He is the father of four children and has 10 grandchildren, all educated in public schools. He and his wife, Cathy, live in Safford with their daughter, Sara.
Konopnicki’s community service includes the Safford Public Schools School Board for 12 years, Mount Graham Regional Medical Center Operating Board and has worked with the Ronald McDonald Houses in Arizona and New Mexico. He is on the executive board of the Grand Canyon Council for the Boy Scouts of America and on the board of directors of the Morrison Institute at Arizona State University.
Konopnicki will aggressively represent the interests of the citizens of District 5. He believes in strong family values and is committed to improving the economy in rural Arizona. His background in business and education gives him a unique perspective on District 5 and its issues. He is committed to the citizens of District 5 and Arizona.

Here's his state website. Have a look at all the new laws and things he's been working on. Some you may like, and others you may really dislike and wonder what they have to do with Safford or 'rural' Arizona. But please visit and know what he's working on first hand.
