Wow! If you have been moping about town looking for something to do lately, mope no more. This week is chock-full of local events that honor and memorialize everything from national events to local people.

There are announcements for all of these events, but we thought it would help you keep track if we listed them together. So get out your calendar and mark down these events.

• “Making Do with Less: Arizona Women and the Great Depression” will be presented March 26, 7 p.m., in the Phelps Dodge room at the Safford City-Graham County Library. All are invited to this free program.

• Arizona Opera presents selections from “The Magic Flute” and “La Traviata” on March 27, 7:30 p.m., at EAC’s Lee Little Theatre. Tickets are $10 for adults and $3 for students and can be purchased in advance at Richards Music and the Chamber of Commerce or at the door the night of the performance.

• The Graham County Spring Fair is Thursday, March 27, through Sunday, March 30, and features rides, a biker and ATV rodeo, a cowboy rodeo, singing, fiddle and dance contests and a horse sale.

• “Fiddler on the Roof” is March 28, 29, 31 and April 4, 5 and 7, at 7:30 p.m. in EAC’s Fine Arts Auditorium. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students and can be purchased at the EAC Ticket Office.

As part of the tribute to American military veterans, the Graham County Chamber of Commerce will host a book signing by Chaplain William Bell, who will sign his book, “Peace in the Valley.” The book is a memoir of the Safford native’s experiences as a U.S. Army chaplain in World War II.

• A Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Fair is March 29, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., in the Wal-Mart parking lot.
