Maybe it’s time to learn to grow our own vegetables

I really don’t understand. Why is it that in the last year or so, food such as spinach, peanut butter and tomatoes is bad for our health? Since when did E. coli and salmonella “naturally” grow in vegetables and nuts?

Something smells fishy to me. I know this may sound like a conspiracy theory, but in my mind (as slippery as it may be), I see quiet terrorism written all over it. If I had sworn my existence on this earth to be dedicated to the destruction of my enemies (which is what ours have done), I would attack the food supply, get ‘em where it really hurts. I think someone who wants to hurt Americans is “testing the water,” so to say, to see what type of damage can be done. I hardly think we’ve seen the worst.

The FDA has promised investigations into the problem, but I haven’t heard anything substantial that it has found – no word on if it has investigated employees who may be involved, etc.

The solution I propose for my family is to learn to grow our own. Sure, I can’t grow everything, but I will rest assured these contaminants are much less likely to be found in my garden. There is no reason salsa should be the cause of death for anyone.

" In past decades it has been far more economical to buy vegetables from grocers than to 'grow yer own'.
    That is rapidly changing!
But, the Disease angle is another matter! Folks who have always grown their own have, likely, developed antibodies to many common germs and viruses. This is exactly what the "Market" would not like to see! Keeps the Customer 'in the fold' so to speak, when the Government declares store-bought produce 'Safe'.
    In Nature, 'Healthy" means Immunity.
Those who Can, should grow their own! "

" I think many of us have become too civilized for our own good...We've lost our connection to the land and to our sources of sustenance. To survive, people will need to get back to the basics and start growing their own crops and stock....Those who can't, will be at the mercy of social/political and economic complications...Up to and including food shortages.
