Editor:

With a new school year just around the corner, the school lunch program from our school district needs to be recognized. The breakfast and lunch program fed hundreds of children during the summer.

Safford School Board President Michael DeLaO needs to be commended for all his efforts, not only for his visibility during the summer, but for everything he does for the district. He cares a lot for the children of the Safford School District to the point of his getting upset at people’s not observing the speed limited posted around the school area. His presence there was and is a delight to see!

To see the children visiting with each other, eating and just enjoying being children was enough to make me thank God for people like DeLaO and others who care. Thank you so much for watching and caring for the future of America, our children.

Victor Ornelas, a very grateful citizen

Safford
