Parmeter arraigned on sexual conduct charge
After postponements, waived hearings and Judge R. Douglas Holt removing himself due to a conflict of interest, former Eastern Arizona College basketball coach Timothy Martin Parmeter, 39, was arraigned Monday and pleaded not guilty to sexual conduct with a minor. Parmeter’s arraignment was in front of Gila County Superior Court Judge Peter Cahill in Payson.

Stolen tractor ditched in Gila River
While patrolling at about 2:30 a.m. on Tues-day, Graham County deputy Shawn Haralson noticed something unusual in the Gila River west of the Thatcher Bridge. Upon closer inspection, he discovered that someone had driven a tractor into the river and left it with its lights on and radio blaring.

Heather Ballard, a prevention specialist with the Southeast Arizona Behavioral Health Services, empties a bottle of medicine into a container that will be incinerated at the Mount Graham Regional Medical Center for Dump the Drugs Day on Saturday, sponsored by the Graham Anti-Meth Coalition. An estimated 14,000 pills or tablets and more than 500 ounces of liquid medications were brought to the hospital for disposal, including prescription and nonprescription drugs.
