We’d like to commend our mail carrier, Becky Saline. She’s our angel. When Becky started her route Tuesday, Aug. 5, she never imagined what she was about to encounter that afternoon at the home of Dolores “Lola” Aguirre.
That morning at 10 a.m., Lola was walking out to her porch to check on her plants when she tripped and fell. She couldn’t move or get up. Her neighbors couldn’t hear her yelling for help, and she laid there until 1:30 p.m. or so until Becky brought her mail and found her.
I’m sure that was a very traumatic experience, but Becky kept her composure and managed to help as much as she could.
Lola’s fall resulted in a broken hip. The next day, Wednesday, she had a complete hip replacement. After a week in the hospital, she was sent to Infinia Nursing Home for therapy. She’s home now and doing nicely.
If Becky hadn’t found my cousin, Lola, when she did, I don’t think she’d be with us today. Becky, our hats are off to you. You will always be Lola’s and our beautiful angel here on earth. Becky, thank you. We will eternally be indebted to you for your kindness, courage and saving Lola’s life.
God bless you, and may His light shine upon you always. Love you, Becky.
Felicita and Tony DeLeon
