Scholarship fund-raiser was huge success

Dear Editor:

It gives me great pleasure to thank all of the people who attended our first Hispanic/Minority Scholarship Fund-raiser.

The Hispanic population growth in southern Arizona requires many new and specialized services. Hopefully, this scholarship fund will allow businesses interested in the outreach, recruiting and retention of the Hispanic customer to understand the differences within the Hispanic and minority community in order to build a stronger and more diverse work force.

To all our supporters for your dedication to increasing productivity through education and training, we applaud all of you for contributing positively to our community. I congratulate Mike DeLaO, Joanne Morales and Sandra Jurado. They were the recipients of the Hispanic/Minority Awards given out for their high standards of excellence and all the hard work and dedication it took to reach this significant milestone.

Best wishes and thanks to all who made this event a reality.
