EAC Children’s Theatre to hold auditionsfor ‘Snow White’

Auditions for the Eastern Arizona College Children’s Theatre production of “Snow White” will be held Thursday, Oct. 16, and Friday, Oct. 17, 4:30-5:30 p.m., in the Gerald L. Hoopes Jr. Activities Center – Lee Little Theater.

Pilgrimageis Oct. 18

The annual Our Lady of Guadalupe pilgrimage is Saturday, Oct. 18. Walkers will meet at 5 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church in Safford for a bus ride to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Solomon. They are reminded to bring a water bottle and comfortable shoes. Bus departure times are 5:15 a.m. and 5:30 a.m.

Assessment relief in sight for some property owners

Graham County Assessor Jacque Attaway announced that all 15 county assessors supported House Bill 2130, the residential homesite bill. The bill was introduced in the legislative session by Representative Bartos and signed by the governor April 18, 2008. The bill becomes effective Jan. 1, 2009, for the 2010 tax year.

Arizona’s transportation system to be discussed

The Arizona Department of Transportation and local/regional partners are hosting a second series of community workshops across the state to present future scenarios to the community for feedback. The scenarios have been developed based on input from the first round of workshops held earlier this year. All area residents, government and community representatives are urged to attend the workshop to be held Monday, Nov. 10, 2:30-4:30 p.m. or 5:30-7:30 p.m., in the assembly room of the Graham County Services building located at 921 Thatcher Blvd., Safford. Snacks and beverages will be available.

Lay Witness Mission Weekend offered

First United Methodist Church in Safford is partnering with Aldersgate Renewal Ministries to offer a Lay Witness Mission weekend experience, Miracles Still Happen, Oct. 24-26, in which a team of laypeople come to Safford to share their personal faith experiences. They are prayerfully selected because of their openness and willingness to share their faith journey. The witnesses will provide programming for all ages. The coordinator is David Camp from Tucson, and the witnesses come from Arizona, New Mexico and Utah.
