Published on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 10:00 AM MST

The town of Pima has declared Oct. 17-25 as Town Cleanup. All residents are encouraged to take an active part in getting involved in this beautification project by cleaning up their lots.

As a special incentive, the town crew will pick up trash Oct. 17 through 25. Trash must be neatly stacked and cut so that it can be loaded by one person. The crew will not pick up old appliances, tires, building materials, concrete or masonry supplies, automobile parts or metal.

Town residents are responsible for hauling all other trash or household items to the landfill. Residents should be prepared to state their names and give a physical address.

During this period, landfill charges will be waived for Graham County residents hauling trash from their households. Residents must have identification to document their place of residency within the town of Pima. Identification may include a photo ID driver’s license or other photo ID showing place of residency or address.

Citizens of the community along with church affiliations are encouraged to organize cleanup groups. With the permission of homeowners, groups can go onto private property and help with the cleaning of debris.
