Denny’s is a full-service restaurant open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. It serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and has a special late-night menu inspired by rock bands. Break-fast is served at any time.
Owner Glenn Beattie of Gilbert was in town with his wife, Tina, for the opening. Beattie owns four other Denny’s restaurants in Arizona, three in Phoenix and one in Casa Grande.
“This is the best of both worlds,” Beattie said, “because you’re on a major throughway, and it’s a hometown feel whereas most of the Denny’s are either an interstate or a hometown Denny’s.”
The Beatties said being next to the hotel and down the street from the Eastern Arizona College were also some of the reasons they chose to come to Thatcher.
“We have one of our other locations near a college, and it ends up being a really great place to study and have some coffee when you need to get out of your dorm room,” Tina said.
Beattie said the Thatcher location is the first brand-new restaurant he and his wife have been a part of. He said they helped build it from the ground up and gave a lot of input on the layout of the building. It is the first franchise Denny’s to utilize what Beattie called “the most high-tech kitchen equipment/computer package” available.
Approximately 100 employees were hired to operate the Denny’s.
The Beatties commented several times on the welcome they have received and said they are eager to become a part of the community.
“Our Casa Grande restaurant is in a neat little community very similar to this, and these are fun communities to be in,” Tina said. “We look forward to getting involved with Little League and (having) a football team.”

Yet there is only three spaces to begin with...nice to have a new place to eat.
Well, if you can get to it without a hike. "

loud weekend music. Hard to take old friends out for breakfast and chatting, raising our voices above the one-man band. "

Some Management treats the help so poorly that
it helps to sour the attitude, too!
I wish Denny's, El Coronado, Brick's, Gaby's and many more the Best of Luck! "

Jerrys will do alright, but Dennys is a good addition to the valley....I worry about places like Gabi's though....hopefully they will keep going. "

I can't imagine Denny's is serious competition to Jerry's after the "New" wears off. "

You might try dining at the Morenci Motel. The food is good, as is the service, and they have lowered their prices. (For awhile there the prices were so high they reflected the inflated price of the copper.) "

It would seem to me that the people managing these restraunts are to blame. If you get a rude emplyee, fire them and get a better one.
Thanks to FMI there should be plenty of people wanting jobs.
I hope these people realize how stupid it was to open a reteraunt in times like these. "

Apparently this is what people want, because, the place sure was crowded.
Me? Perhaps I'm particular...I like my breakfast hot with steam rolling off the food like in the TV commericals. Ha! "

I'm probabally like most people.."great a new place to dine." Yet, I'm not sure if anyone else noticed; Safford is starting to look like a corporation oriented community.
I actually miss the ol' Mom and Pop places. Like Brick's on 191 and the local Mexican resturants.
So no..I'm not impressed with another Walmart / McDonalds type company coming into town.
Hey..place looked popular as I drove by today. Seen one Denny's, seen 'em all.
Open 24 hours?
Wow!
Safford's big time now. "

Yes Denny's serves coffee, tea and many, many more drink items that even Jerry's does not. You sould try it out. Hope you like Denny's. You defintely get served enough food for the price. Enjoy!
The bathrooms are even clean and nice unlike some of these other places in the valley and have clean eating utensils. HA! "
