Lindajean Western, assistant vice president of marketing for NAU’s extended campuses, said the Thatcher campus will replace video conferencing with Web conferencing. This means students with wireless Internet connections can attend class at home, in a library or at school.
Western said the new technology will be better for students because it offers more flexibility and will allow students to interact with professors.
NAU served 326 students from 2006 through 2008 with local and online programs at Thatcher, she added. “We are currently seeing an increase in applicants for our fall 2009 elementary education program and anticipate an increase in enrollment in our 90/30 management program as well,” Western said.
