According to a sign placed on its door Wednesday, the publication has folded and anyone with questions was directed to contact Safford Mayor Ron Green.
The Courier spoke with Green on Friday morning, and he said the publication was not out of business and a disgruntled employee had placed the closed sign on the door.
He said he has suspended publication for the time being due to restructuring but was unsure when the suspension might be lifted.
The publication began printing May 6, and its most recent edition was June 24. It listed the First Pueblo Financial Corporation as its owner.
Green owns the building the publication called home and is the president/CEO and director of the First Pueblo Financial Corporation. His wife, Tomi Kaye Green, is listed as its secretary, treasurer and director. Banners and signs touting the publication have adorned multiple vehicles owned by Green, but he denied ownership of the publication.
"It's not my paper," he previously told the Courier. "I'm working with them, and I'll be in the paper, but I'm not the owner."
Green would not comment on his business relationship with Bill and LeAnn Arganbright. The Arganbrights were working at the Southwest Express News, and LeAnn recently took over the managing editor position for the last two issues.

Your broad generalization of all of us small town folks shows your ignorance and small mindedness. Was there a purpose to your comment? "

Maybe he was telling the truth when he said I dont own the paper! Cause the bank probably owns it now. ybd "

Now, you cannot find very many people who admit to voting for him. This is a lot like Nixon. Nobody voted for Nixon and he was able to win two elections.
If you don't think that Green should be in office, then do something about it other than complaining and posting your comments here. "

Very clever..
How about Haphazard Dunces?
Wear clown suits instead of bolo ties.
I mean what did bolo ties ever do to get dragged into the dirt with this crew?
Add a Barney Five to the cast too.
Sherriff gets shot in first episode and clowns run around like Keystone cops.
Mayor part of cover-up. Also in court, over some new trouble..ect.
Endless plot ideas..
Let's pitch 'em..to Hollywood.
Ha! "

In the mold of "The Dukes of Hazard"---it could be about a goofy Mayor and his cronies---alwanys trying for a big score but hilariously screwing up.
The lead character could wear a bolo tie and a cowboy hat, the vice mayor could be clueless---and their arch-enemy could be the local drycleaner!
No need to waste time on casting or costumes---just hire these guys to reprise their real-life roles!
Is an Emmy award be posible? You bet---if the show were half as funny as the real shenanigans! "

Next maybe he can start another business based on a personal vendetta---maybe a drycleaners.
When your motivation is "I'll show them", sometimes you reap what you sow.
And, perhaps next time he will actually know whether or not he owns the business he is running. That's always a god start! "
