The establishment closed May 29 after five years of serving residents in Graham County.
The general economic downturn and the opening of several restaurants in the area were the main reasons for the business closing, according to Richard Couch, chief operations officer and general manager of Reay’s Ranch Investors, LLC.
“It didn’t make economic sense for us to go forward,” Couch said.
Reay’s Ranch Investors owns the Super Stop in Thatcher, four businesses in Safford and the Minit Market in Pima.
The company has owned businesses in Graham County for 20 years, and Couch said none of the company’s other businesses in the Valley will be affected by the current economic state.
“We’ve been very successful (in Graham County) over the years,” he said.
The building space and everything inside the old A&W and Long John Silver’s building is for lease.
