Multiple burglaries reported in Safford on Sunday

Sunday was a busy day for the Safford Police Department as officers responded to at least three burglary calls.

A Safford officer responded to the first call at about 2:51 p.m. after the victim returned home and found his residence on 14th Avenue had been broken into.

According to a police report, the victim stated he had spent the night at a friend's house in the Klondyke area and left his residence's rear sliding glass door open to allow his dog access in and out.

Upon returning home, he discovered his front door was unlocked and multiple items were missing. Some of the stolen items included a 1957 Gibson Les Paul guitar valued at $5,000, two reddish-brown Ibanez acoustic guitars valued at $200 each, a silver RCA big-screen television valued at $1,500, two Ipods (one blue and one silver) and a RS driver golf club.

The officer reported there are no leads or suspects at this time.

Officers then reported to a residence on 10th Avenue at about 8 p.m. to investigate a burglary of several golf clubs and a golf bag.

According to a police report, the victim said he had left his residence at about 4:30 p.m. and returned about an hour later. He later discovered that a set of Ping G-10 golf clubs and bag valued at $1,200 that was in his garage was missing. The victim said the bag was blue in color and the clubs had AFLAC covers with a picture of the duck spokesman on it. The victim said he had left his garage open during his absence.

There are no suspects or leads at this time.

A third burglary call had the police investigating a burglary at an apartment complex on 17th Avenue after the residents called them at about 9:30 p.m.

According to the police report, the victim said she had gone to the movies and Chalo's for some drinks before returning to her apartment at about 9 p.m.

Upon her return, she immediately noticed someone had broken in through her bedroom window. The victim reported miscellaneous jewelry was stolen along with a Playstation 3 from her son's room and multiple DVDs from her daughter's room.

The victim said this was the second time her residence was broken into. There are no suspects or leads at this time.
