Judge Sanders and family grateful for aid, support
Dear Editor:
As a follow-up to your June 24, 2009, article regarding our son, Jeremy Sanders, please share our heartfelt thanks to the many people who assisted in Jeremy's rescue after his tragic accident near Ash Creek on Mount Graham. Jeremy was discharged from the hospital Friday, June 26, after a seven-day stay at UMC in Tucson. He is home now and recuperating well.
To Jesse Nevin and Dustin Curtis, Jeremy's dedicated Boy Scout leaders, and the other boys of Varsity Scout Team #5102, we express our gratitude for the quick response in getting the urgent medical care and rescue operation in motion when Jeremy was in such critical need of help. To all those unnamed volunteers and professionals who assisted in getting Jeremy to a location where he could be evacuated by helicopter to Tucson, we will be forever grateful for your efforts. All of you played a crucial role in saving our son's life as he suffered from extensive internal injuries as a result of his fall.
To our friends and acquaintances in the Gila Valley who have remembered Jeremy and us in your prayers during the last several days, we will never be able to repay you for the comfort and peace your thoughtfulness has brought to our family. We feel very blessed to be able to live and work among such thoughtful and caring people.
Sincerely,
Corey and Melissa Sanders
