(Written after receiving a letter advising that his current Medicare health plan is being discontinued)

I sure would like to know, as are others like me, what is changing with Medicare.

I'm retired, on a fixed income, and I can't afford to be without insurance. But I'm not on Obama's side! What is happening to the gold ole U.S.A.?

I thought czars were from Russia, not the White House.

" Mr. Dalpra- I am not calling you a liar but when somebody quotes a "90%" or uses words like "universally respected" it does generate skepticism. I know people that are happy with medicare and people that are thoroughly confused by it. Care to share your sources on this one? "

" "Wrong" is wrong. Independent surveys show that about 90 percent of those who have Medicare coverage are happy with it. "

" Rudy, How can you make a statement regarding what is "universally accepted"? That is inaccurate.

Are you privy to some survey of all people who have received Medicare benefits?

Anytime a person claims that everyone likes anything, it is suspect, at best. "

" In his letter Mr. Johnson refers to the discontinuation of his current "Medicare" plan. Once one becomes eligible for Medicare, it cannot be discontinued.

His reference is likely related to a medicare suppliment policy issued by private insurers who often use the term "medicare" lightly and erroneously too convince would be subscribers of government-backed legitimacy.

AARP, for instance, throws the "Medicare" word around while pushing private insurance plans.

These kind of persnal tales lead to unfortunate confusion about Medicare, which is universally respected by those who benefit from it. "
