Safford Police responded to the crash at 612 S. Fifth Ave. in Downtown Safford at about 3:47 p.m.
Upon arrival, officer Lance Shurtz interviewed the driver, Ethel Davis, 60, of Safford. Shurtz described Davis as being disoriented, confused and apparently under the influence of some type of drug at the time of the crash. Davis allegedly told Shurtz she had taken prescription sleeping pills prior to driving.
The force of the collision caused the truck to be dislodged from its parking space and hit a pole, but Davis was not injured.
Davis was issued a citation for failure to control her vehicle.
