Check on food bank before you donate

People in the Safford area should know that the Southeastern Arizona Food Bank is located in Willcox and does not serve people in this area unless they drive to Willcox. It is not part of the Arizona Association of Food Banks. I tried the number listed in the paper and got a recording. I would advise people to check with the Arizona Secretary of State's office or the Attorney General's office before donating to see if this organization can legally solicit funds in this manner.

" I check the AZ Assn of Food Banks listing and the Southeastern Arizona Food Bank is listed in their directory.

They used to distribute food in Safford through the Oddfellows. Whether they serve Safford any more, I am unable to determine. You could contact the Oddfellows. "
