The mayors of Safford, Thatcher and Pima and the county supervisor met Oct. 19 at the Thatcher Town Hall to sign a proclamation presented by the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. Rose of Lima, designating Oct. 25-Nov. 1, 2009, as White Ribbons Against Pornography Week.

Members of CDA will hand out white ribbons after the morning Masses on Oct. 25, encouraging people to wear the ribbons all week as a sign of their commitment to community standards of decency and their support for enforcement of the laws against obscene materials.

" This article reminded me of the Simpsons episode when Marge got all the townspeople to shut down the local brothel... all of the men in the crowd were regular customers of the joint but for fear of being found out they were outside protesting with the women. HA! "
