Margaret Coronado Padilla was called to heaven Sept. 29, 2009, while surrounded by her family.
Margaret was born Dec. 27, 1939, to Jose Angel Coronado and Sarah Garcia Coronado. She was raised in Bisbee and later moved to Clifton, Duncan, Morenci and, finally, Bagdad, where she passed away peacefully among family.
She is survived by her children, Benjamin Padilla III of Clifton, Sally A. Baca (Vet) of Bagdad, Lydia Granado (Danny) of Springerville and Frank Coronado Padilla (Bebe) of Bagdad; two brothers, Frank Coronado of San Manuel and Gilbert Coronado of Sierra Vista; two sisters, Alice Pizano of Bisbee and Jessie Chavez of Thatcher; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Margaret enjoyed music, cooking, gardening, working with her hands and time alone praying with her saints to our Lord. She had a great love for animals and the littlest things in life. She loved getting together with her sister, Jessie, and just talking about the good old days when they were younger. Her greatest love, however, was her children.
Margaret worked hard throughout her life and held many jobs, such as waitress, cook and bartender. She also worked for the Phelps Dodge Mine in Morenci.
She will be greatly missed. Services will be held at St. Patrick Church in Bisbee on Oct. 10 at 9:30 a.m.
