Arturo G. Luna

Arturo G. Luna, 87, of Clifton passed away Oct. 16. Arturo was born to Severo Luna and Amelia Gutierez in Miami, Ariz., on July 15.

He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was part of Normandy. He received the Purple Heart Award for his bravery.

Arturo worked for the United States Postal Service and Phelps Dodge Corporation. He was active in the Catholic Church and a member of the Legionnaire Post 28.

Some of his hobbies included carpentry, handyman work, listening to Spanish music, gambling and camping.

He is survived by his children, Cecilia (Fred) Perez, Stella (Rumaldo) Romero, and Olga (Leo) Miller; his brother, Albert Luna and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Refugia Luna; his parents; his son Henry W. Luna; three brothers, one sister, one grandchild and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Arturo will be Oct. 22 at the Sacred Heart Church in Morenci, with the rosary at 9 a.m. and the funeral Mass to follow. Interment will follow the service at the Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Church or American Legion. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Caldwell Funeral Chapel.
