Howard Ames

Howard E. Ames, 85, passed away Oct. 18, 2009. He was born in Douglas and grew up in Oatman. After serving in the Navy, he lived in Morenci, retired to Safford and spent his last years in Tucson.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda (Brian) Young and Vonda Gilliland; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Julia; and nieces Sherry (John) Raggio, Katie (Ron) Osborne, Jody Pelusi and Sandy (Mike) King, along with other family and friends.

Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; his parents; and brothers Bill and John. He was a special man and will be missed so much.
