Correction

The Oct. 28 Courier reported the legal secretary for Safford's former city attorney, Johnny Guthrie, was still in Guthrie's vacant office at 702 Eighth St. The secretary spent seven months in the office after Guthrie's resignation in May 2008 and was reassigned to be an administrative assistant for the Planning and Community director in January. Safford has not filled that position since its last director, Pete Stasiak, resigned Feb. 13. City Manager David Kincaid has been overseeing the department, with Safford City Planner/Downtown Coordinator Dustin Welker assuming a greater workload as well.
