The open house is Thursday, Nov. 12, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., at 2115 W. 16th St., Safford. The CRC is a partnership between the American Cancer Society and Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center.
“The Cancer Resource Center is a vital link in the entire cancer experience, not only for those diagnosed, but also for their families and caregivers,” said Tracelyn Sutton, quality of life manager for the society. “Cancer resource centers are typically located within cancer treatment facilities, with the goal of furnishing their patrons with the most up-to-date information possible about their individual cancer, treatment options and other resources available to them.”
The CRC is staffed by volunteers who have been both recruited and trained by the American Cancer Society.
“We want to invite the entire community to stop by during the open house to see what we have to offer,” Sutton said.
“Though we wish no one should ever have to be confronted with cancer, we want them and their loved ones to know that this incredible facility is available to them when they need it most.”
The open house is free to the public, and light refreshments will be served. Volunteers and medical center staff will be on hand to answer questions.
