Financial services firm Edward Jones has opened a new office in Safford, and its two-person staff is excited to serve the Gila Valley.

Luke Hoopes and Lauri Collums bring experience and a commitment to dedicated customer service to the new office, which is located at 1491 W. Thatcher Blvd.

Hoopes graduated from Arizona State University and has worked with Edward Jones since 2007. He is married with three children, and his wife is from Thatcher.

Hoopes, a Pima native, said investors are too often given a one-size-fits-all strategy by brokers. He wants to listen carefully to each individual’s plans and choose the right approach for that person.

"It's the full one-on-one service," Hoopes said of his philosophy. "Being very involved with your investment decisions; providing monthly contacts by either phone or mail — just keeping in touch with people."

Services available at the office include stocks, bonds, mutual funds, annuities, life insurance and more.

Hoopes said the most frequent questions he gets from clients concern when they can retire and if they have enough money.

Collums has worked with Edward Jones for five years and transferred from another office in Safford. She knows and enjoys the community and is excited to work with Hoopes at the new location.

"I know she will be a terrific asset to this office as we strive to provide our clients unparalleled personal service," Hoopes said.

Hoopes is proud that Edward Jones Investments was voted "Highest in Investor Satisfaction" by J.D. Power and Associates last year and also pointed out that it was rated No. 2 in the 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2010 by Fortune magazine.

The office is holding a grand opening Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Hoopes and Collums welcomed everyone in the community to attend. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and the phone number is 928-428-3431.
