WILLCOX — The Willcox Wine Country Association announced its semi-annual Willcox Wine Country Festival will take place May 18-19, in Railroad Park located on Railroad Avenue in historic downtown Willcox.
The event will include food, live music and wine tasting with 16-featured Arizona wineries. The event is scheduled, rain or shine, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.
The Arizona wineries scheduled to showcase wines are Arizona Stronghold, Golden Rule Vineyards, Carlson Creek Vineyard, Coronado Vineyards, Gallifant Cellars, Keeling Schaefer Vineyards, Kief-Joshua, Kokopelli Vineyards, Laurence Dunham Vineyards, Page Springs Cellars, Pillsbury Wine Co, Sand-Reckoner, Zarpara Vineyard, Flying Leap Vineyards, Dos Cabezas featuring Cimarron, Rolling View/Saeculum Cellars.
Saturday, May 18
• 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. — V Lundon and Tell Me Something Good with Roll Acosta.
• 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. — 13 to the Gallows.
Sunday, May 19
• 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. — Buzz and the Soul Senders with Nowhere Man and A Whiskey Girl.
Attendees who purchase wine on Saturday will be entered into a drawing for fantastic artwork donated by TRUST Art & Design and a one-night stay at beautiful Sunglow Ranch. After the festival on Saturday there will be a reception for winemaker/film director Sam Pillsbury at the Keeling Schaefer Vineyards tasting room, followed by a 6:30 p.m. screening of Sam Pillsbury’s film “Crooked Earth” at the Willcox Historic Theater across the street from the festival.
Willcox is home to many Arizona vineyards and currently hosts four tasting rooms: Carlson Creek, Coronado Vineyards, Keeling Schaefer Vineyards and Zarpara. Two more are opening soon: Pillsbury Wine Company South and Flying Leap Vineyards.
