THATCHER - Eastern Arizona College's Small Business Development Center is hosting a seminar entitled, “Google's Get Your Business Online: How to Build a Free Web site,” on Saturday, Feb. 23, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the EAC High Tech Center, Room No. 113.

Google's national program, “Get Your Business Online,” allows small businesses to reserve a domain name and create a Web site, all for free. In addition, through this program, Google provides free domain name and hosting for the first year.

“Many small businesses in Greenlee County would like to have a Web site, but can't afford to pay a professional to build one. This program will allow any business owner to have a nice, user-friendly Web site to help guide potential customers to their storefront. We will have Wi-Fi, and attendees who have a mobile device (laptop, iPad, etc.) will build their Web site that night,” said SBDC director, Kevin Peck.

“Online local information is like the new Yellow Pages,” he continued. “You can't afford not to have an online presence.”

The admission is $20 per person ,and registration is strongly encouraged as seating is limited and attendees need to receive information prior to the seminar to maximize time. For more information or to register for “Google's Get Your Business Online: How to Build a Free Web site,” contact Julie Davis, EAC SBDC administrative assistant, at 928-428-8590 or by e-mail at julie.davis@eac.edu.

We would like to make a few clarifications regarding this seminar...

*The seminar will be in Thatcher, and is for anyone interested in learning how to build their own website...not just Greenlee County residents as was mentioned in article.

*Also, you do not have to have a mobile device, iPad, etc. to attend this seminar. We will have computers available for you to work on. You are still more than welcome to bring your own laptop if you wish.
