A burglar went through all of the trouble of cutting a fence and stealing a motorcycle from Maverick Motorsports only to leave it lying broken in the alley minutes later.

Safford Police responded to a burglar alarm at Maverick Motorsports at about 2 a.m. Monday and found that a fence had been cut open and motorcycle tire tracks going through the gate.

Police called manager Randy Glover, who examined the cut fence and confirmed that a motorcycle was missing from the front display.

Glover also told police that he had surveillance cameras for the front area of the business where the bike was taken from.

The bike, a white Suzuki 2008 RM450, had been dropped, and the brake handle was broken from impact with asphalt.

Contact Safford Police with information about the case at 348-3190.
