GRAHAM COUNTY — The Southeastern Arizona Sportsmen’s Club announced two new scholarships will be awarded by the club for the 2013-2014 school year.
A $500 scholarship will be awarded to the most qualified “graduating senior” from one of the local high schools. And a $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to the most qualified student “continuing college level studies” beyond freshman year in an outdoor related field.
The goal is to promote continuing education for local students in Southeastern Arizona pursuing college degrees primarily in outdoor related fields.
Interested students should be a graduating senior from one of the local high schools or a returning college level student. They must maintain a 2.5 GPA or above to maintain eligibility. Applicants must complete a 500 word or less essay explaining their interest or goals.

The Southeastern Arizona Sportsmen’s Club organization was created in 2003 and currently has a membership of approximately 300 family members. The focus of SEAZSC is to improve wildlife habitat, and promote outdoor educational programs for youth and families.
