SAFFORD — Safford Unified School District is preparing for the annual USDA Summer Food Program.

Free meals will be available to children 18 years and younger, from Monday June 3 through Wednesday July 31. The main sites for hot breakfast and lunch are Safford Middle School Cafeteria and Dorothy Stinson Cafeteria. There will be a bag lunch site at the Safford Pool.

Additional sites may be added depending on availability of site volunteers.

Menus and times for all sites will be posted in the Eastern Arizona Courier before June 3.

Persons interested in volunteering to host a site during June and/or July should contact Jon Walker at 928-348-7005. Volunteer or alternate must be present at site every day, Monday-Friday.

Meals must be consumed on site and site must be appropriate for meal service with seating, hand washing sink and shelter or shade. The USDA is an equal opportunity provider and employer.
