Dale Dean Pennington, 63, of Safford, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, Sept. 28, 2013, at the Hospice Family Care in Tucson, with his children by his side, following a long battle of declining health.

Dale was born in Central on June 29, 1950, to Howard and Bessie Pennington. Dale, along with his brothers and sisters, was raised in Safford. He attended Safford Schools and completed his education by earning his GED.

Dale always loved the outdoor life, where he could often be found doing what he loved. This would include hunting, fishing, trapping or spending time with his family, friends and grandchildren.

Dale is survived by: his three children, Michael Pennington (Becca), of Mesa, Shane Pennington (Andrea), of Safford, and Sheila LaBeau (David), of Thatcher; his 13 grandchildren, Leighton, Aubree, Tyler, Hanah, Haley, Mackenzee, Cheyanne, Kylie, Allyson, Payson, Kaden, Brenon and Jordyn; his seven brothers and sisters, his twin, Gale Pennington (Naomi), of Colorado, Autrey Pennington (Margie), of Safford, Mary Soule, of Mesa, Carolyn Miller, of Colorado, Loreda Ferguson, of Mesa, Betty Stone (Carl), of Mesa, and Wanda Ginn (Art), of Central; and numerous other family members and friends.

Dale was preceded in death by: his father and mother, Howard and Bessie Pennington; and his brother, Marland Pennington.

Graveside memorial services for Dale will be conducted Sunday morning, Oct. 20, 2013, at 10 a.m., at the Central Cemetery. A potluck luncheon will follow at the American Legion in Solomon.
