Graham County Jail

A 56-year-old inmate at the Graham County Jail killed himself June 2, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Michael Allen Reidell was found shortly before 8 p.m. bleeding heavily after using a razor blade to cut himself, officials said. He physically resisted when staff tried to help and eventually was brought under control and flown to Mt. Graham Regional Hospital, where he died.

A press release from the Graham County Sheriff’s Office said a note was found in Reidell’s private cell. An autopsy will be performed by the Pima County Medical Examiner and the investigation is ongoing.

Razor blades are given to inmates for shaving.
