Greenlee County and Graham County have each lost another two residents to COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths due to the virus to 18 in Greenlee County and 124 in Graham County since the start of the pandemic.

According to the Greenlee County Health Department, both victims were people in their 50s from Morenci. Four people have died in Morenci as a result of the virus, six have died from the Clifton area and eight have lived in the Duncan area.

A breakdown of the deaths in Graham County wasn't immediately available.

According to the Arizona Department of Health Services, 1,372 COVID-19 cases have been diagnosed in Greenlee County since March 2020. 

The state has also reported 40.1% of Greenlee County's 10,375 residents have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

As of Sunday, 8,305 COVID-19 cases have been reported in Graham County and 52.6% of Graham County's 38,476 residents have received at least one vaccination shot.

As the number of COVID-19 patients continues to rise, so do the number of  people in Arizona's intensive care units. 

There were 644 people in ICU Saturday with COVID-19 compared to 482 October 20 and 167 six months ago on May 20. At its peak that number reached 1,183 on Jan. 11.
