CLIFTON — A second suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of Matthew Misener.
The Clifton Police Department announced Wednesday, Feb. 25, that Georgina Misener, 33, had been arrested on charges of first degree murder and conspiracy to commit first degree murder.
Georgina Misener had been taken into custody with the assistance of the Pima County Sheriff’s Office and Greenlee County investigator.
“During the investigation, electronic communications between Georgina and Eduardo Montano Jr. were discovered that showed collaboration between the two in the murder of Matthew,” Clifton Police officials said.
Matthew Misener, 35, a mechanic at the mine in Morenci, was found dead from a gunshot wound in the early morning hours of Feb. 10 by emergency services. Police arrested Montano in Pima County in connection with the killing later that week and held him on a $1 million bond.
A GoFundMe campaign has been started to help Matthew’s family of three children with expenses. It can be found at https://bit.ly/3bJDW6M.
