Duncan residents if you were shocked when you opened your latest utility bill and found a larger than normal outstanding balance, don’t worry. Interim Town Manager Philip Cushman wants you to know your bill is erroneous and he’s working to get the issue fixed.
For unknown reasons, residents were not credited with the payment they made last month, Cushman said.
In some other cases, numbers had been transposed on bills which also resulted in huge balances, he said.
Cushman said Monday morning he was trying to resolve the issue with the town’s billing company and hoped to get everything taken care of within a few days.
The phone at town hall started ringing nonstop at 6:30 a.m. Monday about the issue, he said.
