The Morenci Lady Wildcats and the Benson Lady Bobcats battled to a two-all-tie Thursday night before Benson was able to win the tie breaker game, 15-10.

In the first game, Morenci put together a 16-8 advantage. Benson was able to tie things up at 20-20 enroute to their 25-21 win.

Benson took the second game 25-19. With the score knotted at 9-9, the Lady Bobcats went on an 11-1 scoring run. Morenci chipped away at the lead, but could get no closer than six points behind Benson.

The Lady Wildcats turned things around completely in the third game by dominating Benson. Morenci built a 19-8 lead at one point, taking Game Three 25-21.

Morenci rode the momentum of the Game Three win into Game Four. There were three lead changes but following a Benson time-out, the Lady Wildcats out-scored Benson nine points to three down the stretch, winning 15-19.

With the score now 2-2, it set up the tie break game. Like most of the night, it was back and forth for the most part, but Benson out-scored Morenci 6-2 to claim the 15-10 win and headed back home with the 3-2 win.

The Lady Wildcats now 3-3 overall and 2-2 in Region 2A East, have to road games at Willcox and Pima before returning home to host Willcox on Oct. 20.
