EAC board to consider lower tax rate for 2024

Because the assessed property value has increased county-wide, the tax rate will drop from $2.71 to $2.60, representing an 11-cent reduction from last year’s rate. Because the reduced rate will generate additional funds, statutory language refers to this as a tax increase, when in fact it is a tax rate reduction.

A Truth in Taxation Notice was posted in the Eastern Arizona Courier on May 24 and is scheduled again for May 31.
