A Thatcher resident has become the latest Graham County resident to die while battling COVID-19.
According to the Graham County Health Department, the victim was in the 75 or older age bracket. Since March 2020, 72 county residents have succumbed to the virus.
Since the first COVID-19 patient was diagnosed in Pima in March 2020, 5,272 residents have caught the virus. As of Tuesday, 560 remain ill.
Just under 28 million Americans have caught COVID-19 and of those, roughly 500,000 have died.
