The Graham County Health Department announced two more COVID-19-related deaths Tuesday morning.
According to the health department, both victims were over the age of 60 and lived in Safford. Their deaths bring the total number of virus-related deaths in the county to 82 March 2020.
Health Department Director Brian Douglas said the state health department has been reconciling numbers lately and recently assigned 35 cases to the county.
However, only seven new cases have been diagnosed by the county since May 13, he said.
Since the start of the pandemic, 5,613 Graham County residents have caught the virus and right now 132 are still sick, according to the Graham County Health Department.
Greenlee County’s COVID-19 numbers have only increased by one in the last week. Since March 2020, 578 residents have caught the virus and 10 have died. Two residents are currently battling COVID-19.
