SAFFORD — A phone scammer targeted a Safford resident June 4, saying a local business was closing down and demanded monetary payments in exchange for previously purchased product.
A senior citizen was called in the morning and told that Boulevard Glass was no longer in business, and the caller demanded payment for a previous order. The callback number the scammers were using was 503-585-0903.
Paula Schuler, office manager of Boulevard Glass, spoke with the Courier later that day, describing the target of the scammer as the mother of one of its customers. Luckily, the target of the scam called Boulevard Glass and found the scammer had been lying and the business was still operational.
